The Austrian Society of Railway History is operating Upper Austria's one and only steam and diesel museum train between Ampflwang and Timelkam.
The rail link between Timelkam and Ampflwang was constructed to facilitate the exploitation of Hausruck's abundant coal pits. In the early 1920s, Ampflwang was home to Europe's most modern coal mining industry. The ÖGEG has taken over the railroad track and all related buildings. Since 1996 they have been working on creating an Austrian Railway Museum that is to be opened in 2006 within the Upper Austrian Provincial Exhibition.Operating on Sundays from June 30 to September 08, as well as on August 15, September 29, October 06, December 01 and 08
