Circular route Bauer in Reith

Description:

From Schlierbach village square, you hike behind the monastic walls along the Way of the Cross to the Calvary Chapel and from there to the Haslinger houses. On forest roads, through woods and over meadows, you go to Bauer in Reith and through the forested Käfergraben back to the starting point.

Directions:

From Schlierbach village square, you hike behind the monastic walls along the Way of the Cross to the Calvary Chapel and from there to the Haslinger houses. On Piereck forest road, take an immediate left through the quiet, shady forest to Bognersteg.

Now it goes uphill through the forest and then over a meadow to Mitterhaus. Passing Zwieselberg and Wörtner, follow the signs to “Bauer in Reith,” where you can take a pleasant rest.

The farm “Bauer in Reith” is a cooperative alpine pasture of the Upper Schlierbach farmers with a small snack offering (observe individual opening hours). Strengthened by rustic snack specialties, you then take the path through the forested Käfergraben to return via the village Dorff to Schlierbach.

Climate-friendly to the national park region - Schlierbach station: By train, you can reach the starting point for this hike in about 1 hour from Linz and about 2.5 hours from Vienna.
