Day 1 - Individual arrival in Passau
Arrival for your cycling holiday on the Danube Cycle Path. Check into your room and pick up your travel documents for your cycle tour along the Danube Cycle Path at the hotel. The hire bikes are handed over at the Passau bike hire centre. Hotel example: Hotel Passauer Wolf****in Passau
Day 2 - From Passau to Schlögener Schlinge/surroundings, approx. 50 km
On the Danube Cycle Path you cycle downstream through the idyllic Upper Danube Valley past Engelhartszell to the famous Schlögener Schlinge. Hotel example: Revita Hotel Kocher**** in St. Agatha
Day 3 - From Schlögener Schlinge to Linz, approx. 45 km
You continue cycling through the wooded Danube valley and cross the expanses of the Eferding basin on your way to the vibrant Danube city of Linz. Hotel example: Hotel Courtyard by Marriott**** in Linz
Day 4 - From Linz to Grein/Bad Kreuzen, approx. 60 km
Start your cycling holiday in Austria with a sightseeing tour of Linz before continuing your cycle tour towards Strudengau. There is a lot to see on this section of the Danube cycle path in Upper Austria: Enns, the oldest city in Austria, unspoilt floodplain landscapes in Machland along the Danube cycle path and finally the charming little boatmen's and baroque town of Grein. Day 5 - From Grein/Bad Kreuzen to the Wachau, approx. 65 km, boat trip from Melk to Spitz
Today, your cycle tour in Austria takes you from Grein through the impressive landscape of the Strudengau and Nibelungengau regions to the Wachau. During the Danube boat trip from Melk to Spitz, marvel at the picturesque villages and castles along the Danube, surrounded by extensive vineyards. From Dürnstein you cycle to your overnight stay in Krems in Lower Austria. Hotel example: Steigenberger Avance Hotel and Spa**** in Krems
Day 6 - From the Wachau to Vienna, approx. 45 km, train journey from Tulln to Vienna
Leave the Wachau with its impressive vineyards behind you and cycle comfortably along the cycle path along the Danube to Tulln. From there, take a short train journey to Vienna. Immerse yourself in the metropolis and visit the world-famous sights such as Schönbrunn Palace, the Prater, the Ringstrasse and St Stephen's Cathedral. Day 7 - Return journey to Passau or additional nights
Return journey from your cycling holiday on the Danube to Passau by train in seasons A and B (transfer of your own bikes not included). In season C, you can choose between the return journey by bus (transfer of your own bikes included) or by train (transfer of your own bikes not included).
