A guided tour with castle owner Dr Otto Plappart is a special experience.
Built in the 12th century as a hunting lodge for the bishops of Passau, it was extended as a fortress by the Schaunberg family in the 14th century. Today, Neuhaus Castle towers majestically over the Danube.The tour includes the Pallas (old castle), the buttocks of Neuhaus and the chapel and can be booked all year round by prior arrangement.
The tour can be easily combined with the Granite Adventure World tour, the Hofstetten Brewery tour and the slow train ride.
