Welcome to the Waldschenke am Sternstein

We are a family business in the Upper Austrian Mühlviertel. You will find us 3 km outside of Bad Leonfelden, on the southern slope of the Sternstein at 960 m above sea level. When the foggy fields settle in the lowlands, you can enjoy the sun, tranquility and nature with us, with a fantastic view of the distant Alps.
You not only take a holiday with us from the first minute, but also a holiday from driving, because our hiking trails and Nordic walking paths along the Nordwaldkamm start right outside the front door.
8 cozy rooms, equipped with shower, toilet and cable TV await you.
Carola looks after the guests with heart and dedication, Siegfried's concern is to spoil you with culinary delights. Out of conviction, he uses regional and mostly organic products, fresh herbs and natural salt for his fine cuisine.

You can relax wonderfully in summer in the solar-heated outdoor pool, or after exercising in our infrared cabin. You will see how your strength comes back, the joint and muscle pain disappear and you feel good again.

Let us spoil you with culinary delights in one of our cozy guest rooms. 3 different areas in different sizes invite you to linger.
Our dining room, the oldest part of the house, with a crackling fire in the fireplace, offers an ideal setting for family celebrations up to 30 people. If more space is required, we switch to our main room. Every variant of the table arrangement can be taken into account (up to 60 people). In the parlor you will find cozy tables of two in niches.

In summer our large sun terrace attracts around 60 people. From one of our longstanding regular guests, it was lovingly referred to as the "Mühlviertel Riviera" because of the great view and the flower arrangements. The place for a break, even if it only lasts for one meal.

Our opening times:
Friday - Tuesday 8 a.m. - 11 p.m.
Closed on Wednesday and Thursday.

We spoil you with regional and seasonal delicacies from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. In the afternoon there are snacks and warm dishes from traditional home cooking.
On rest days we are only open on request!
