The railway station in Freistadt is 3.5 km outside the town. You need 40 minutes on foot.
There are no regular bus connections into the city.

Busy ÖBB railway station on the Summerauerbahn, wheelchair accessible, with WC, no more ticket office, only 1 ticket machine, no more restaurants, only a few public transport connections to the old town, large P+R car park free of charge, covered bicycle parking spaces, unfortunately no bicycle hire station, no taxi station.
