Learn interesting facts about the historical peat extraction and get to know the flora and fauna of the Ibmer Moor!
Housed in a former servants' flat, the Ibmer Moor Local History and Moor Museum in Hackenbuch explains the formation of our moors, their flora and fauna, manual and mechanical peat extraction and the renaturalisation of the moors. There is also a lot of interesting information about the early settlements and artefacts found around the Ibmer Moor and the glassblowing trade in Hackenbuch. In a video room, visitors can watch up to 20 short films about the Ibmer Moor and the communities in the region. Most of the films were created by "ARGE KULTUR" and local film-makers from Bürmoos.Please get in touch for more information.
