Innviertler Versailles

Aurolzmünster Castle is a moated castle located in the centre of the market town of Aurolzmünster in the heart of the Innviertel region in Upper Austria and is also known as the "Versailles of the Innviertel".

The history of the castle begins in 1676 with the acquisition of the property by Ferdinand F. A. Graf von der Wahl. In 1691, the well-known architect Henrico Zuccalli began extensive rebuilding work, which was completed in 1705. Subsequently, the inventor Carl Schapeller was also one of the owners, who bought Aurolzmünster Castle from Arco-Valley in 1925 and built his "World Power Centre" there.
The historic baroque moated castle of Aurolzmünster has been sensitively renovated in recent years in close co-operation with the Federal Monuments Office.
Today, the castle houses an event location, seminar rooms, boutique flats, a castle shop, a restaurant, an escape room and many other attractions and attractions.
