Vorderweißenbach is first mentioned in a document from 1292 as "Weissenbach". However, the origins of the parish church certainly date back to the 11th century. This church was probably already a stone building. Two Romanesque capitals, which were used in the later construction of the 15th century, can still be seen in today's church around the altar of the Virgin Mary as the end of the supporting pillars. The tower was free-standing.
