The present church was built in 1893/1894 according to the plans of the architect Raimund Jebinger from Linz because the old parish church from the 18th century on the same site had become too small.
had become too small. It is dedicated to St Florian. It was not until 1786 that a parish of Neumarkt i.H. was founded in the Gaspoltshofen deanery.

From 1788 to 1808, Benedikt Hayder was the first parish priest in Neumarkt i.H. There has been a church in Neumarkt i.H. since at least 1536, but at that time it was still a branch church of Taufkirchen and later of Kallham.
