The European municipality of Gallneukirchen, located in the lower Mühlviertel, belongs politically to the district of Urfahr-Umgebung and was first mentioned in a document in 1125. In recent years, Gallneukirchen has developed into a very popular residential community. Its proximity to the provincial capital Linz (15 km) is a plus point. The mild climate of the Gallneukirchen basin and a well-developed infrastructure speak in favour of the town in the centre of the Gusental region.
Well-marked hiking trails invite you to go for walks and hikes. A beach volleyball court and a skateboard court, tennis courts and much more invite you to take part in sporting activities.
