St. Peter am Hart lies east of the town Braunau, amidst the Lower Inn European Nature Preserve.

The popular Inntal Cycle Trail is perfectly signposted and passes right through St. Peter. Another rewarding route is the lovely Roman Cycle Trail that features Roman rest places and trailside vantage points.
