The name of the village and the mountain of Luftenberg is believed to have its roots much back in time and is derived from 'Luffinperc '.

Activities range from bowling and archery to swimming and water skiing at the idyllic Hohenlohe-Au Lake. The Danube and its tributaries make for some perfect spots for fishing. And the lovely reservoir area of the Abwinden Danube Power Station lends itself to outstanding nature exploration.
