The tiny and picturesque village of Hörbich is set at the heart of scenic Rohrbach District and has the unmistakable air of a healthy and intact rural community.
The village´s coat of arms shows two crescents of the moon. This symbol is to be ascribed to the heraldic signs of the Counts of Tannberg and those of Herleinsperg. The said Noblemen of Tannberg had the Castle of the same name erected in a dramatic position high above the village, jutting out over Kleine Mühl River at the base of a precipitous cliff. Unfortunately, the once mighty Stronghold´s structure was let gone to rack and ruin.
