Sonnberg im Mühlkreis

The rural market town of Sonnberg is charmingly surrounded by gently rolling foothills. Lying at an elevation that ascends from 650 to 825 meters, there are hardly any foggy days. This fact is appreciated particularly by the numerous avid ramblers and cross country skiers who come to explore the lovely scenery. Local attractions that are worth seeing include the Pöllerskapelle Chapel, which has been completely refurbished recently, and the amber. Legend has it that a long time ago the devil was counting silver here. There are four families who offer luxurious Farm Stays in peaceful locations. A beautiful Inn named Pötscher and the recently opened "Auf d´Sunnseitn" ("On the Sunny Side") Snack Bar spoil visitors with local delicacies. One of the most famous folk dance groups are the so-called "Sonnberger Spitzbuam", a group of young men who continue an old tradition.
