The Gassnersteig is a part of the tour "around the Traunstein" and it starts from the lake Laudachsee, exactly from the "Ramsauer Alm".

Follow the forest road till the end, where you have to turn right to the beginning of the Gassnersteig. Hohe Scharte-Lainautal-Mair Alm-back to the forest road-Miesweg or forest road till the parking lot "Umkehrparkplatz".
From the Gasthaus "Hois'n" or "Ramsau" you have the possibility to take a liner of the "Traunseeschifffahrt" till the center of Gmunden.
