The way of the dragonfly is an easy hiking path through the municipality of Oberhofen.
Start at the parish church of Oberhofen not before having visited the interior of the gothic monument. Note the interesting altars and the pulpits of sculpture master Meinrad Guggenbichler.
From the town centre follow the yellow hiking signs with the dragonfly symbol passing a small forest and through lushing meadows. Take a close look if you hear a prominent sound like a flute. This is the curlew, a rare bird species breeding here and heraldic animal of Oberhofen. All over Austria only few pairs can be found and at the nature conservation area "Nordmoor" (northern moor) some of them are living. When the curlew starts flying he sounds like a flute. That's when it can be spotted best because normally they are sitting in the high grass which makes them almost impossible to see.
After the northern moor go to the right following the edge of a wood along a gravel road. Here you will soon pass the Celtic hill, an ancient burial mound from the Dark Age.
After few kilometers you will be back at the point of origin in Oberhofen. Enjoy the walk!
