Warscheneck, south-east ridgeline (via ferrata)

From the Frauenkar mountain station, you hike via the via ferrata - south-east ridge to the summit of the Warscheneck.
Retour via the Toten Mann and the Brunnsteinersee lake to the mountain station of the funicular railway.

In a hollow in front of the Frauenkar mountain station, the marked ascent begins with easy climbing (max. I) to the Widerlechnerstein (2107m), where the route briefly heads west. Climb along the ridge or partly just to the left of it up to the first insurance points. The climb is well secured with stirrups, handholds and ropes.

In easy terrain (wire ropes, footholds) up (A/B), just below the summit there is a steeper passage (B). You practically get off at the Warscheneck summit cross.

From the Warscheneck summit, follow the route over the Toten Mann and down to Brunnsteinersee. Take the "2 million years in 2 hours" hiking trail back to the Wurzeralm mountain station.

How difficult is it?
Surefootedness is required. Only the difficult and very exposed sections are secured (A/B). There are also some climbing sections at difficulty level I. For less experienced climbers, via ferrata equipment is recommended.
For children with mountain experience (recommended from 10 years), a short safety rope should be brought along.

The Frauenkarbahn cable car is only open from the beginning of July to the beginning of September on Wednesdays - Saturdays - Sundays and public holidays in good weather!
