The Törlwand via ferrata, also known as the "Mein Land - Dein Land via ferrata", is a varied, short via ferrata with an impressive gorge start, airy single-rope bridge, ladder and beautiful slab traverse.

Climb with a panoramic view

The entrance leads through a crack in the rock face, after a few metres the belays begin. The ascent inside the mountain is quite interesting, you straddle the crevice and come to a rope bridge. You continue to an aluminium ladder and come to beautiful slabs with interesting rock warts. You then climb for a long time over slabs that are free and very easy to climb and then reach the exit after a final steep section.
Turn left along the climbing tracks to reach the Obermoossteig in a few minutes through the forest just next to the rock faces. Continue along the marked path to the summit of the Predigstuhl (lastly secured with a wire rope). Despite the low altitude, you have quite a nice panoramic view.

In emergencies, call the mountain rescue service on 140!

Starting point: Predigstuhl car park
Destination: Predigstuhl car park

Details - climbing mount
  • difficulty acc. to Kurt Schall: medium difficulty (B)
  • Hop off description: Pass the Predigstuhl car park and walk north-east along the forest road towards the Hütteneckalm (signposted Predigtstuhl/Hütteneck). Shortly before an open meadow, the Obermoossteig trail branches off to the left to the Predigstuhl (sign: Predigtstuhl, about 15 minutes from the car park). Climb steeply uphill through the forest, past the turn-off to the "Leadership via ferrata" (signpost: via ferrata) and continue uphill for a few minutes until you reach the first rocks. Here, in a left-hand bend of the via ferrata by a large fallen tree, continue horizontally on a still somewhat weak path, then descend slightly along the walls to the start of the via ferrata at a prominent rock crevice (sign). The via ferrata tree visible shortly beforehand may not be used by private climbers! Another access option is to take the forest road up to the Törl and turn left at the large hairpin bend. Through the forest via climbing tracks and without any loss of height, you will soon reach the start.
  • Hop on description: Only a short stretch on the ascent path back to a junction. Keep left on the cycle path into a wooded saddle between Predigstuhl and Ewiger Wand. Descend steeply (wire ropes, carved-out steps), then in hairpin bends with beautiful views of the rock faces of the Ewige Wand down into the forest. Follow this until you reach a forest path. Follow the path to the left, following the signs past a fountain, back to the starting point. The descent can also be made via the Obermoossteig, which is a little quicker and shorter.
  • duration Descent: 1 h

Depending on the snow and weather conditions, the via ferrata is accessible from May to October.
