Pettenbach:
Its north-south extension of 14 km always finds a green boundary in the west through the Alm river and in the east through the Aiterbach.

Pettenbach, located at the entrance to the Almtal, where the mountains merge into the wide foothills, is a thousand-year-old settlement area. The first traces of settlement go back to the Stone Age. Finds of rock gardens along the Alm and along the Aiterbach prove that the area was already inhabited in prehistoric times.

Illyrians and Celts are historically verifiable. Here the ancient salt road crossed with the iron road. From then on, the favorable traffic situation formed an attraction for settlers.
