Via Ferrata Postalmklamm / D - F Variant

A famous via ferrata has led through the wildest gorge in the region since 2006. Since 2020, there has also been a very beautiful variant called the Wieslerfall via ferrata. 

Access: From Strobl via the Postalm-Panoramastraße in the direction of the Postalm with your own vehicle to the car park near hairpin bend 2 (Gamsfeldkehre).

Access: Shortly before hairpin bend 2 (INFO board) descend via a 200m easy climb down to the start of the gorge section. 

Equipment: In addition to the usual via ferrata equipment (climbing harness, via ferrata set, gloves, rockfall helmet, sturdy shoes), it is recommended to bring waterproof clothing. For little people, an additional extension with carabiner as well as a safety rope makes the climbing experience even more attractive. 

Length: approx. 5.5km / 450 metres in altitude / approx. 31/2 hours time required for the ascent. 

Difficulty: lower part (gorge section) medium (C) / variant "Wieslerfall via ferrata" (B/C) / upper part (Gamsleckenwand) difficult (D). The via ferrata is very airy and not suitable for children under 14 years. The Gamsleckenwand can be bypassed on an easy via ferrata. 

End point: Schnitzhofalm (snack station with alpine cheese dairy). 

Way back: On foot via the signposted hiking trail back to the car park (duration approx. 1 hour).
