A cosy hike in the middle of the Dead Mountains - a classic

A leisurely hike through forests and meadows with wonderful views of the Tote Gebirge, the Spitzmauer and the Prielgruppe.
From the Bärenalm car park, turn right onto hiking trail 209/280. Follow the hollow path to a forest road. Cross this and follow the signposts to the Schafferreith mountain hut. For a better view, climb straight up the slope to the mountain hut (former restaurant).
The descent leads to the forest road and then follows the same path back as the ascent. The time indicated refers to the entire route.
