Beautiful circular hiking trail along the Ager in the Ageruferwald forest and via small villages to Mitterberg.
The circular route starts at the car park of the ball sports hall/football pitch. The tarmac access road runs between the tennis hall and the football pitch. The circular route begins behind the tennis court on the gravelled path. As soon as you come to the Agerufer Weg, either turn right - upstream. At the first bridge, cross the Ager and walk back down to the river. Continue upstream for a short while and then turn left through the village of Johannisthal. Via Erwin-Greiner-Straße you come to Buchleiten Straße. Walk along this in a westerly direction. Via Roither Straße (side road) you come to Roith and on to Windern. Through the settlement you reach the main road 135, which you cross and continue via Traunwang to Fallholz. Here the route continues quietly and shady on the side road along the Traun riverside forest to Mitterberg. It is worth making a short detour to the Mitterberg castle chapel. The road now descends to Schwanenstädter Straße. Cross this and walk through the forest to the village of Hart. Keep left at the next junction. You reach Kaufing via the village of Glatzing. From Kaufing, the route leads to Neudorf, where you come back to the Schwanenstadt side of the Ager. Follow the Agerufer path back to the starting point. Please get in touch for more information.
