The trail runs in 2 circuits around the sports field and practice area! It is possible to ski both classic and skating! Cross-country skiing is initially possible on Tuesdays and Fridays from 18:00 to 20:30 under floodlights and the trail can always be used during the day!
- The minimum distance must be maintained
- A distance of 1.5 m must be maintained in the cross-country ski trail.
- MNS required at the car park!
So nothing stands in the way of cross-country skiing fun!
The Sport Union and the tourist centre of Windhaag b.Fr. are looking forward to welcoming many cross-country skiers.

Cross-country skiing is possible under floodlights on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the trail can be used at any time during the day!
Accessibility / Arrival
by car:
From Nuremberg via Passau-Schärding (Innkreisautobahn A8) and Linz (Mühlkreisautobahn A7).
From Munich and Vienna via the Westautobahn A1 to Linz;
From Linz (Mühlkreisautobahn A7 and S10) to the Grünbach/Sandl exit, continue on the B38 (approx. 500m) then turn left towards Windhaag via Grünbach.
By train:
Via Linz main station to the Freistadt or Summerau terminus
Arrival by public transport
The Sportunion Windhaag welcomes voluntary donations for electricity on site!
