Easy winter hike along the crooked Steyrling
Pleasant hike from the Scheiblingau parking lot along a forest road into the Bodinggraben and onward to the picturesque Blumauer Alm
Directions:The hike starts at the Scheiblingau parking lot and leads about 1.8 kilometers upstream along the Crooked Steyrling into the Bodinggraben. After the first gorge-like section of the path, the valley opens and the Bodinggraben welcomes visitors with a cultural highlight, a group of buildings including the Rosalia Chapel, Jagahäusl, Adjunktenstöckl, and the stately Bodinggraben forester's house.
If you like, you can take a short detour from the Jagahäusl to the Bodingen and to the viewpoint on the Rotwagwiese. (Hiking trail, not barrier-free!)
The path continues along a forest road, past the Bodinggraben forester's house, to the Blumauer Alm. It lies idyllically beneath the steep, rocky northern cliffs of the Sengsengebirge. If desired, you can continue along the road to the turnaround hut (trailhead Feichtaualm). The Blumauer Alm is not serviced.
Return along the same way takes about one and a half hours back to the starting point at Scheiblingau.
Equipment:Sturdy footwear, poles, possibly tea and snacks, as there are no places to stop along the way
