Circular trail around the highest point of Rainbach
The Kerschbaum Saddle with its 792 metres in altitude is the apex between Linz and Budweis, which the horse-drawn railway had to overcome. Tip: Visit the horse-drawn railway museum in Kerschbaum. Here you can learn interesting facts about the first railway on the European continent. Start the hike on the gravel and forest path up to the saddle. Tip: there is a water hut in the clearing at the top of the mountain, from where you have a wonderful view towards Viehberg (Sandl). Through the village of Kerschbaum, you return to your starting point.
