The trail starts like P 5 to the Hesser farm, then branches off eastwards, leads along a meadow path past a farm and a short stretch along the goods road to the Kreppenhofer chapel
After crossing the Halmenberg estate road, you pass the Gmeinerbauern farm and reach the forest path to Reichenstein (1 ½ h). On the way, you will come across a memorial column commemorating a tragic event from the 16th century: The lord of Reichenstein Castle, Knight Haym, was shot dead by a subject, a dissatisfied farmer. Further downhill, you finally reach the ruins of Reichenstein, whose origins date back to the 13th century. As part of the renovation of the chapel and castle, a modern extension was built in 2013, which houses a museum and, together with the ruins, serves as a venue for cultural activities. Reichenstein also has an inn located directly on the Waldaist river. The hiking trail leads back down the castle hill, first to the right and after a few houses to the left in the Pasteinertal up through the forest to Pregartsdorf (1 h). From there you return to Pregarten together with P 5 and P 9..Coming from Linz:
Take the A7 motorway towards Freistadt as far as Unterweitersdorf. From there, take the B124 towards Pregarten and Tragwein as far as the Pregarten town centre exit.
