The "Bad Ischl AR" app developed by Österreich Werbung, the Bad Ischl Tourist Board and the Salzburg start-up Mixed-Reality.io allows you to gain an in-depth insight into the town's cultural treasures through augmented reality.

As you stroll through the charming streets of the town, the app guides you to sights such as the Elisabeth Residence, the Bad Ischl parish church and the Lehár Theatre. At each of these locations, you can use your smartphone to watch and listen to historical scenes, live concerts and anecdotes. Imagine Anton Bruckner playing a live concert directly through your smartphone while you stand in front of the parish church .

The "Bad Ischl AR" app uses a map-based navigation system to guide you seamlessly from one highlight to the next. This immersive experience combines visual and auditory extensions of reality to give you a comprehensive understanding of Bad Ischl's history and culture.

This app is a pilot project with the aim of innovating the visitor experience and at the same time creating offers for a younger target group without compromising the traditional cityscape. It is available free of charge for iOS and Android.
