Christmas Eve Services in the monastery church Gut Aich in Winkl.

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. The celebration is on 25th December, the solemnity of the birth of the Lord whose arrival begins to be commemorated in the evening of the 24th, Christmas Eve. The day of 25th December was declared a Christian celebration by the Romans in the year 336. Today, Christians and non-Christians alike celebrate Christmas, usually with their families and by exchanging gifts. The second day of Christmas is the 26th December also known as St. Stephen’s Day.
