Trinks, Silver-Garburg & Münchener Kammerorchester

Hardly any other work of Romantic chamber music has such orchestral, almost symphonic features in its musical texture as Johannes Brahms' 1st Piano Quartet in G minor. No wonder, then, that Arnold Schönberg memorialised this fact with his arrangement of the piece for large orchestra. It was also Schönberg who made the legendary remark about the main theme of the first movement: "Unfortunately not by me!" Constantin Trinks and the Munich Chamber Orchestra, together with the piano duo Silver-Garburg, now perform an arrangement for piano duo and string orchestra, which is juxtaposed in the second half of the concert with Wolfgang Amadé Mozart's masterful 40th Symphony in the same key.
