The Kalkalpen National Park is the most significant forest national park in the Alps. With its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is part of a Europe-wide project to protect the last remaining primeval beech forests. These ancient forests with their diversity are a natural treasure. Here, primeval forest species, such as the Alpine longhorn beetle and white-backed woodpecker, find a home.

Difficulty: Good physical condition and surefootedness required!

Requirements: The guided tours on the fixed dates are reserved for private individuals. We ask groups of 10 people or more, companies, schools or other organizations to contact the respective visitor center.
