St. Bartholomew's Parish Church in Unteach am Attersee invites you to the Feast of Corpus Christi. The Feast of Corpus Christi is a Solemnity in the Church Year of the Catholic Church, celebrating the bodily presence of Jesus Christ in the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

In the liturgy, the feast is called the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ; regionally, it is also called Pillory Day or Blood Day. In English and other languages, the Latin name of the feast is Corpus Christi.

Corpus Christi is celebrated on the Thursday after the Feast of the Trinity (on the 60th day after Easter Sunday) and thus falls on May 21 at the earliest and June 24 at the latest. Thursday as a feast date is closely related to Holy Thursday and the associated institution of the Eucharist by Jesus Christ himself at the Last Supper. Because of the silent character of Holy Week, Holy Thursday does not allow for a pompous display of festivity. For this reason, the feast of Corpus Christi was placed on the Thursday of the second week after Pentecost when it was first instituted.
