Christian Ruschitzka: Amber Room, mechanical landscapes

Christian Ruschitzka has been pushing the concept of sculpture since his studies with Helmut Gsöllpointner in Linz and Bruno Gironcoli in Vienna. He often liberates them from the white cube of galleries, creating irritations in nature and urban spaces. His works should be able to exist and assert themselves anywhere, which is why they often become mobile companions. Conversely, Ruschitzka also scrutinises familiar objects for their sculptural suitability, reduces them in their spatial demands and thereby turns them into references to their former function.
