ZYKLEN - Art with nature

Jan Langer creates art with nature and in doing so becomes part of the cycles that take place in the South Tyrolean landscape: The cyclical recurrence of the materials collected on site, their colours and processing methods as well as the conditions specific to each season determine the artistic work and the appearance of the artworks. His short-lived installations are thus created in a close dialogue with the landscape, from the creative possibilities that nature provides at a particular time and in a particular place. For Langer, it is ‘aesthetic information’ with which he transforms a section of the natural space into a temporary painting and makes it permanent by photographing it at the end, before it disappears again after a short time without leaving a trace.
