Serenades: Trio Lentrias

Creative or life crises have affected people at all times. Johannes Brahms had already announced his last composition to his publisher when he heard the famous clarinettist Richard Mühlfeld in Meiningen a year later. The sound of "Fräulein Klarinette", as Brahms put it, fascinated the composer to such an extent that he found a new creative urge and composed his clarinet trio in addition to the famous clarinet quintet. Conversely, it was his publisher who suggested that the already elderly Gabriel Fauré compose a trio to help the composer out of a depressive phase in his life. Michail Glinka's trio, on the other hand, can almost be understood as "self-therapy", which was also composed during a personal crisis. The trio juxtaposes all of this with Lentria's "Dance" and "Chaconne" by composer Daniel Linton-France, which describe the never-aging dichotomy between body and mind - who will tire first?
