Operetta parlour

Bad Ischl and operetta - this love affair goes back to imperial times. The life and work of many operetta masters was influenced by the Salzkammergut, just as the cultural development of the town was significantly shaped by this liaison. The renowned Lehár Festival is testament to this, but the traditional operetta concerts have also always been inextricably linked to the city's identity.

In keeping with this tradition, the Bad Ischl Tourist Board is delighted to present a new concert series in collaboration with the Lehár Festival masterclass: Under the direction of opera singer Linda Plech, young singers (graduates of the masterclass) and musicians have come together to create an entertaining and refreshingly young event format - the Operetta Salon.
 
This will add four more dates to Bad Ischl's musical programme over the course of the year. Operetta enthusiasts will thus have the opportunity to shorten the waiting time for the Lehár Festival in summer and also enjoy the enchanting melodies of Lehár, Strauss, Kálmán and many other greats in between.
