The Police Music of Upper Austria, made up of real police officers, performs in various formations and ensembles. In addition to performances at official occasions, the police music also gives ten to 15 concerts. Most of these are home concerts in Upper Austria with a benefit character, but invitations are also regularly extended to neighbouring provinces and to neighbouring countries. Concert tours have already taken the Police Music to Italy, Mexico and China. Highlights of the last few years were a performance in St. Peter's Basilica and at a papal audience in Rome as well as participation in the Berlin Tattoo music parade. Since May 2021, the Police Music has been under the musical direction of Kapellmeister Robert Wieser. Christian Brummer is responsible for organisational matters as music master. At the top of the management is music officer Hofrat MMag. David Furtner, the head of the office for public relations and internal operations. The police music is considered an essential advertising medium of the Upper Austrian Police Directorate. Through its cultural work, it is supposed to be a link between the population and the police - and the spearhead of police public relations.
