Papageno and the Magic Flute

It could have been a day like any other for the birdcatcher Papageno - and he would have been perfectly happy with that for the rest of his life. But then he stumbled across this strange prince Tamino and his life would never be the same again. An adventure to rescue a kidnapped princess begins, full of villains, religious zealots, wise men, even wiser children and magical instruments that can tame animals. But it's best if Papageno himself tells us what happened.

The version of Mozart's The Magic Flute developed by director François De Carpentries places particular emphasis on making the plot suitable for children without sacrificing the familiar melodies. In addition, the concept invites everyone aged six and over to immerse themselves in the world of opera and learn about love, friendship, courage and openness to the world - the central themes of Mozart's masterpiece.
