How does direct interaction with the brain work? On Saturday, 26 April, and Sunday, 27 April, neurotechnologies will be the focus of the programme at the Ars Electronica Center. In addition to a panel discussion, you can expect workshops, presentations and live demonstrations.
With every perception or thought, our brain cells trigger a firework of electrical impulses. Even if these impulses are very weak, they can be measured and analysed in real time using sensitive sensors. Devices that can scan brain functions and intervene directly in brain processes are known as "neurotechnologies".But how can the brain's activities be recorded and from what distance is this possible? The NeuroExperienceLab at the Ars Electronica Centre offers answers to these questions. This innovative learning centre enables visitors not only to experience exciting presentations, but also to try out these technologies on their own bodies.
