In Gmunden, this year's Capital of Culture event covers the entire city center. The venues are Rathausplatz, Schubertplatz, Am Graben, Rinnholzplatz, Marktplatz, Traungasse, Museumsplatz, Kirchengasse, Salzfertigergasse, Schiffslände and Esplanade. In total, more than 40 groups and soloists will perform - and admission is free. Visitors will not only get their fill of music, but also culinary delights, as the nearby bars and restaurants will of course be serving food out onto the street. The Traunseetram and the city buses run free of charge on the evening of the Fête from 5 pm to midnight. The city center will be closed to private traffic from 4.30 pm to 1 am between the Traunbrücke bridge, the entrance to the underground car park and the Am Graben post office junction. Only the streetcar will run through. The open GM 100 railcar will also be in action, albeit without a ride, which will offer a surprise this year.
