Ulli Bäer, Gary Lux, Harald Fendrich and Harry Stampfer are the four musicians who have accompanied Georg Danzer, Gert Steinbäcker, Falco, Austria 3 and Wolfgang Ambros as a band. Ambros and the four of them wanted to play together again - what luck! Austria 3 - the formation that defines the gold and platinum standard of Austrian pop music to this day: Wolfgang Ambros, Georg Danzer and Rainhard Fendrich together on stage. Their mainstay in this successful project was their songs - long a part of Austrian identity, often unofficial national anthems. Their mainstay and indispensable foundation was the band behind them: Ulli Bäer, Gary Lux, Harald Fendrich and Harry Stampfer.And these four are WIR4. As musicians, lyricists, producers and arrangers, they have had and continue to have a decisive influence on the Austrian music scene: as partners of greats such as Falco, Gert Steinbäcker, Georg Danzer and Wolfgang Ambros through to the legendary Austria 3.
Since 2012, they have been on the road as WIR4 with their new programme "Das Beste von Austria 3" to euphoric applause from the audience. Their unforgettable hits such as "I am from Austria", "Da Hofa" or "Jö Schau" are "Forever Young" and are currently experiencing something of a resurrection, but not at the "Zentralfriedhof" but above all live on stage! Father of Austropop, living music legend, "the" Ambros - there's no need to add any more titles of honour. He has been filling concert halls and open-air arenas with his No. 1 from the Vienna Woods since 1971.
Wolfgang Ambros and WIR4 felt like playing together again. And they have been doing so again since 2018. Under the tagline WIR4plusEINS, they are fuelling what they sparked as the protagonists of Austria 3: the quintessence of Austropop, live!
