International Brucknerfest Linz 2025. The Perfect Match. Lucienne Renaudin Vary on trumpet and Félicien Brut on accordion lead through a varied programme in which they skilfully combine French chansons with music from film classics, operas and musicals.

The common thread running through these seemingly contradictory concepts are two exceptional French musicians: trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary, who was already internationally successful at a young age and was awarded the Opus Klassik in 2021, and Félicien Brut, who was recently honoured by the press as the French accordionist of his generation.

Together, the two artists, who are equally adept at jazz and classical music, steer through French chansons and music from film classics such as Jacques Demy's Les Parapluies de Cherbourg or Les Demoiselles de Rochefort as well as operas and musicals such as Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story or Astor Piazzolla's María de Buenos Aires, finding their own jazzy-classical, painfully affectionate, chamber-musically extroverted sound: The Perfect Match.
