One of the most important British rock bands of all time is going on one last world tour. The term "legend" is often used, but it rarely applies. Here it is.
Lead guitarist Mick Box says "Who would have thought that our band has been around for 55 years? And I know many of you have been with us from the beginning. Well, none of us are getting any younger, so unfortunately we've decided to stop touring from 2025. - On behalf of the band and myself, I would like to thank you all for the continued support you have always given us and which means so much to us. I look forward to seeing you all again very soon ... 'Appy Days!'"During their extraordinary 55-year career, Uriah Heep have proved to be a stunning live band, winning over both die-hard fans and brand new audiences time and time again.
Of the venerable British rock institutions, perhaps only Deep Purple, Yes and Uriah Heep themselves remain after the break-up of Black Sabbath and Jethro Tull.
From the aptly titled debut album "Very 'Eavy... Very 'Umble" from 1970 to their last great studio album "Chaos & Colour" released in 2023, Uriah Heep, alongside other legends such as Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, helped invent the hard rock/heavy metal genre and continue to shape it to this day.
The longevity of Uriah Heep is a testament to the band's music, prolific songwriting, incredible live shows and tireless dedication. The term "legend" is often used - but it fits Uriah Heep. The band can look back on a career spanning over 55 years, which has been a rollercoaster ride: 25 studio albums, 21 official live albums, more than 45 million albums sold worldwide and over 4000 shows in 60 countries.
