"40 years of Rock Me Amadeus" with original band and star soloists.
A piece of music history: 40 years after storming the US Billboard charts and the British Top 40, Falco's original band and star soloists are bringing the unforgettable sound of the local pop legend back to the stage. With "Rock Me Amadeus", Falco stormed the US Billboard charts and the British Top 40 in March 1986, making music history. To this day, it remains the first and only German-language song to reach these top positions. Now - 40 years later - this event is being duly celebrated with a very special concert tour. With original recordings from Falco's career, Falco's original band, together with local star soloists, will bring the original sound to the stage in autumn 2025.
No impersonators, no karaoke, no playback!
The original band features bandleader and keyboarder Thomas Rabitsch, Bernhard Rabitsch (trumpet and percussion), Robert Pistracher (bass), Peter Paul Skrepek (guitar), Peter Vieweger (guitar) and Florian Holoubek (drums) on stage. While Falco appears to be back on stage on a large LED wall integrated into the stage set, Thomas Rabitsch has brought together some hand-picked guests to perform his unforgettable hits on stage in duet with Falco. These include none other than Ana Milva Gomes, Drew Sarich, Edita Malovcic, Georgij Makazaria, Johannes Krisch, Roman Gregory, Skero and Tini Kainrath.
Thomas Rabitsch: "The concept works! The power of the live artists' very own interpretations together with Falco in virtual duets will thrill the audience and create a perfect illusion. It's no exaggeration to say that Falco is still an absolute fixed star in German-language pop history."
Falco's unparalleled career and turbulent life have already been adapted in various books, brought to the stage and made into films. To mark the 40th anniversary of the song that catapulted him to the top of the international charts, the audience can look forward to a very special production with authentic and high-quality Austrian sound and sing along to the global hit together: "He was a superstar, he was so popular, he was so exalted, because he had flair, he was a virtuoso, he was a rock idol, and everything was shouting: come on Rock Me Amadeus!"
