EVERYTHING CLASSIC! - Attergau Summer of Culture 2025
SCHLOSS KAMMER
DO. 31 JULY, 7:00 PM
Johannes Brahms: "Hungarian Dances" 1, 2, 4, 5
W.A. Mozart:
Piano Concerto in E flat major K. 271, "Jeunehomme"
Bela Bartok: Divertimento for String Orchestra Sz113
Fiery Hungarian music frames one of Mozart's most beautiful piano concertos. It is the last and most important of his "Salzburg" piano concertos, which he composed in 1777 for the piano virtuoso Louise Jenamy, hence the nickname. The rousing "Hungarian Dances" that open the evening bear witness to Brahms' fascination with Hungarian folklore. Bela Bartok is undoubtedly one of Hungary's most important composers. He wrote his Divertimento for string orchestra in 1939 during his summer holiday in Switzerland, where he decided to emigrate overseas in the face of the threat of war.
Three great works by three of the most important composers in music history are interpreted by the wonderful chamber orchestra Academia Allegro Vivo and the great pianist Jasminka Stancul. A great evening!
