International Mozart Competition 2025

In cooperation with the "International Mozart Academy"
of the Anton Bruckner Private University under the direction of Robert Holzer,
the productions of "Die Zauberflöte" in 2023 and "Cosi fan tutte" in 2024,
accompanied by masterclasses from Juliane Banse, KS Michael Schade, KS Bo Skovhus, KS Adrian
Eröd, and Katharina Stemberger, were held. More than 25 universities sent
over 100 singers each year to audition in Upper Austria. Under the direction of Artistic Director Thomas Kerbl and the musical direction of Matthias
Achleitner, the productions received acclaim from both audiences and press.
The Academy and the cycle will continue in collaboration with the Bad Hall City Theatre
in 2026 with "Don Giovanni" and in 2027 with "Le nozze di Figaro".

Award winners concert at the Palais Linz on September 7, 2025; 6:00 PM

Eligible are currently enrolled students at a university or music college or conservatories and alumni who graduated in the academic year 2023/2024.

Prizes:
1st prize: €5,000 2nd prize: €4,000 3rd prize: €3,000
Audience prize in cooperation with OÖ Nachrichten €1,000

Special prizes:
Invitations to the masterclasses of the Mozart Academy 2026, as well as
engagements in the productions of "Don Giovanni" and "Le Nozze di Figaro".

Program:

• 6:00 PM Welcome of the prominent jury on stage
• 6:10 PM to 7:30 PM the 12 finalists will be accompanied by the OÖ Philharmonie / Matthias Achleitner / Each will sing 1 aria - Moderation by Thomas Kerbl
• 7:30 PM Break and collection of audience voting slips
• 8:00 PM Award ceremony on stage and repeat of the winning aria with orchestra
