The best ideas are usually born at a schnapps tasting - and so the Schönleiten Musi was founded at Schönleiten in Wagrain in 2010 after such an extensive tasting. Six genuine Pongau locals have dedicated themselves entirely to making music together. After the first few years with 2 flugelhorns, trombone, harmonica and tuba, a bass trumpet was added later and now the repertoire includes old classics, songs to sing along to and, above all, original compositions. Their new CD “Für Alt und Jung” (“For old and young”) contains only compositions penned by Sepp Höller. The well-known Salzburg folk music expert Sepp Höller has always challenged, encouraged and shaped the Schönleiten Musi as musical director, flugelhorn player, composer, arranger and harpist.
